3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

3.1 Within Your Organization

Your data is shared with members of your organization according to the permissions you set.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

3.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

4. Extensions, Integrations, and API

If you use a TeamTask browser extension, add-on, or other integration that connects to TeamTask, the following applies. This section is intended for store listings and developer dashboards that require a Privacy Policy URL.

4.1 Data We Collect

When you use our extension or integration, we collect only what is necessary to provide the service, including:

  • Your email address (when you sign in)
  • An authentication token (to keep you signed in and to authorize requests)
  • Data you choose to send (e.g. task titles, links) when you create tasks or save links from the extension

4.2 How We Use This Data

We use the data solely to:

  • Authenticate you and link actions to your TeamTask account
  • Create tasks, links, or other content in your TeamTask workspace when you use the extension
  • Operate and improve our service

4.3 Where Data Is Sent

Data is sent only to TeamTask. All data from the extension or integration is sent to our own API at teamtask.co (and our app backend). We do not send your data to third parties for advertising or tracking. No data is shared with third parties except our own backend services necessary to run TeamTask.

4.4 How You Can Delete Your Data

You can stop collection and remove or limit your data in these ways:

  • Uninstall the extension or add-on from your browser; this stops the extension from collecting or sending new data.
  • Revoke your session in the TeamTask app (e.g. sign out or revoke the extension’s access in your account/settings). This stops the extension from acting on your account.
  • Delete your account or request data deletion (see Section 6, Your Rights); we will delete your data as described in our Data Retention section.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit
  • Encryption for data at rest
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing
  • Access controls and authentication requirements
  • Regular backups and disaster recovery procedures
  • Employee training on data protection

Note: While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will also retain and use your information as necessary to:

  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce our agreements
  • Maintain security and prevent fraud

When you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
